8 Tips for Healthy Grocery Shopping

Eating healthy all starts with the point of contact at the grocery store. The store itself is the problem. Chips and candy line the isles.  It’s a minefield. And it’s very easy to blow yourself up.

 

Here are the 8 shopping rules to abide by it’ll keep you from stepping on these landmines while you shop for your groceries:

 

  1. Don’t go shopping hungry

  2. Shut the edges of the supermarket- If you’ve gotten into the isles then you’ve goneOff the rails

  3. If a product it’s on the end Of the aisle-Then the company paid to have it placed there, don’t be a stooge - spend!

  4. Any food that you’ve heard of its logo, then it’s probably been processed. Especially if it has a nutrition facts label. Then it’s been processed

  5. If a product has structure function claim on the package then don’t buy it. And example is that oatmeal lowers your cholesterol.

  6. Any food that states it is low fat or no fat is poison. Because something was placed there to replace the fat

  7. If it doesn’t say whole-grain then it isn’t, if the carbohydrate to fiber ratio is 10 to 1 then don’t buy it. It’s not significant fiber. And you’re not getting a bargain of the food.

  8. And also if any form of sugar is one of the first three ingredients then don’t buy it. It is a dessert.
